Our Process

1. FREE CONSULTATION

Let's get started. You have a dream. A DREAM KITCHEN. The Built In Durham team is going to be with you every step of the way. You just have a few photos of designs you like? No problem. Allow us to capture your specific room dimensions, some of your ideas or elements you wish to incorporate, and then we'll start the magic show.

2. DESIGN

Throughout every step, our team will work seamlessly with you to ensure your dream remains on track. From the initial concept stage, we'll assemble first draft renderings of your kitchen and present these back to you for your feedback. Give us a call to initiate a discussion and get things off to a good start.

3. REVISIONS

We love and embrace the revisions stage. This is where your vision becomes inherently more clear, and true creativity takes over. It's where the finer details and your personal tastes are applied. Now you can picture yourself working, playing, entertaining and laughing within your creation. We will make all of the adjustments and revisions you require - until it is PERFECT.

4. DETAILS

Let's talk door styles, colours, countertops, lighting, valances, accessories and aesthetics. Let's consider some of the finer finishing elements and tools available. Think beyond soft-close doors and drawers - those are obvious and standard with our kitchens. Think clever-storage, piston assisted overhead doors, hidden wine fridge, bold fixtures, sensor activated lights and hands-free faucets. THINK BIG!

5. QUOTATION

With the larger decisions complete, we will assemble your quotation based on your design, artistic direction and details available. Not all decisions need to be made at this stage. Final hardware or countertop finish can remain fluid at this stage if you wish. We have enough of the heavy-lifting completed to present your preliminary quotation.

6. PRODUCTION

It's GO TIME! Our turnaround time is normally six weeks from sign-off to production-build-finish. Delivery and installation is coordinated in advance of final production, for a seamless transition from our assembly team to our professional installers and fabricators. Our project managers will

help to ensure many of the other moving pieces are also carefully coordinated - so everything comes together as planned.

We consider ourselves to be true visionaries. As such, we owe it to our valued clients to carve out, generate and present THEIR vision back to them. We start with sketches - crude renderings - and LOTS of notes. Then we develop a series of elevations, layouts and revisions until we have 100% of the details nailed. If you are partnered with Built In Durham for your projects, our final renderings not only LOOK REAL, they look precisely as your finished transformation will, once we are finished constructing & installing.
