House Renovations You Didn't Know That You Wanted
You probably have a list of house renovations that you would like to do. They probably included an updated kitchen and bathroom. These are the two most popular rooms to renovate. However, they are far from the only areas to update. There is a host of remodeling ideas that you may not give much thought to, but they can transform the house. Consider one of the following. Chances are good that these ideas aren't on your radar, but you'll love them once they are completed.
Laundry has to be done; you might as well enjoy the space
A laundry room remodel is one of those things that once you do, you will wonder how you lived without it. Some ideas to make your laundry room more appealing and enjoyable include some of the following.
A great paint color – If you have to spend time in the laundry room, make it an attractive space by choosing a paint color that you'll like looking at.
Counters and cabinets – Have built-in cabinets, counters and shelving put in. The room will look better when it's organized on shelves and in cabinets. You'll be able to easily fold your laundry in the laundry room when you have a nice, long counter.
If you don't have a sink in the room, have one put in. Having a sink to rinse hands and work on stains will save you a lot of time and energy.
A lot of laundry rooms don't have the best lighting. This is especially true if they are located in the basement. Have updated, brighter lighting put in. Also, be sure to include some task lighting near the machines. This makes it so much easier to see the stains before they go through the washer and dryer and become set in.
Keep your feet toasty
While this is technically a bathroom renovation, it's not one that people often think of. Heating floors is something that you'll love. Once you experience a heated bathroom floor, you'll never want to be without it again. It feels so good to step on a warm bathroom floor. Surprisingly, more homeowners don't opt for this luxury. If you're having your bathroom renovated, have the heated floors put in. It's not expensive, and it's well worth it.
Love your pantry
If you're lucky enough to have a pantry, surround the room with built-ins. It will make keeping the pantry organized so much easier. If you don't have a pantry, have one built into your kitchen if there is any way that this can possibly be done. Speak to your contractor. Together you can find a bit of room for a pantry. No home should be without one.
You won't regret any of the above home remodels. In fact, you'll wonder why you didn't do them before. Each one will make a positive impact on your home.
